Kukushen
A lonely man decides to celebrate his birthday for the first time in his life. He will be forty. He wants to have a holiday, noise and fun, but he has no friends. He invites his fellow workers, schoolmates, his neighbour, and all of them are accidental people, in fact, as if a holiday requires only some trappings. A miracle does not happen, and the only person who is not having fun at the birthday party is the birthday man himself.
